History

Tracing Our Path in Mental Health Advocacy

Early Beginning

Founded in 2014, Mental Health Action by People (MAP) is a non-governmental organization committed to mental well-being. Inaugurated by social activist Smt. Sugatha Kumari, the event was attended by dignitaries including Sree O Rajagopal, Sree A Sambath, and Sree K Muralidharan.

Mission & Growth

Since its inception, MAP has evolved to meet growing mental health needs by bridging gaps in access, awareness, and resources. Through a community-driven approach, we foster inclusion, resilience, and well-being for all.

Education

MAP Academy, our education and training wing, enhances mental health awareness through webinars on applied psychology. Featuring esteemed national and international faculty, these sessions equip professionals and the public with essential skills and insights.

Specialized Training Programs

MAP offers specialized training in key psychological interventions:

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT): In collaboration with experts like Dr. Debbie Joffe Ellis (Columbia University), this program equips individuals with practical skills to manage emotional and behavioral challenges.

Psychological First Aid (PFA): A crisis response training that highlights early intervention to reduce long-term mental health impacts.

Our Leadership

MAP’s leadership, a diverse team of professionals, is dedicated to advancing mental health initiatives. The National Executive Committee guides the organization toward accessible and equitable mental health care.

Shaping the Future

Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, MAP leads mental health transformation, ensuring well-being is not just a priority but a fundamental right for all.
