Our past initiatives reflect our unwavering commitment to psychological wellbeing across Kerala.
1. MyBuddy – Mental Health Textline
“Because sometimes, all someone needs is a response that listens.”
MyBuddy was launched as a compassionate, volunteer-driven text-based support service to help individuals struggling with loneliness, anxiety, or emotional distress. Available during the pandemic and post-disaster periods, it offered real-time psychological support and guidance, especially for students and young adults.
2. Psychological First-Aid (PFA) During Kerala Floods – 2018–2019
In collaboration with Smile Again Kerala, MAP deployed trained volunteers and mental health professionals to deliver Psychological First-Aid (PFA) in flood-affected regions including Alappuzha, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam.
This rapid-response intervention provided emotional stabilization, trauma relief, and grief support to hundreds of individuals and families in crisis.

3. Project YES – Youth Empowerment for Resilience
In association with Lions Club International, we launched Project YES—a dynamic youth-focused initiative aimed at preventing high-risk behaviors such as substance abuse, self-harm, and school dropout.
The project conducted mental health education sessions, group resilience workshops, and emotional awareness campaigns across higher secondary schools and college campuses, with a special focus on life skills and emotional intelligence.
4. Just Listening Initiative – Building Barefoot Counselors
Just Listening Initiative was launched with a simple yet powerful goal: to equip everyday individuals with the skills to become empathetic listeners and informal gatekeepers of mental health.
Recognizing that not everyone needs a diagnosis—but everyone needs to be heard—we trained laypersons, students, and community volunteers in the art of active, non-judgmental listening. These group-based trainings emphasized how to create safe emotional spaces, respond with empathy, and support peers experiencing distress.
This initiative helped bridge the gap between professional mental health services and community support—empowering people to be the first line of psychological aid within their own circles.
